Supporting Everyday Skills Through Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy at Sterling School is designed to help students strengthen the skills they need for success both in and out of the classroom. Our OT program targets key areas such as fine motor development, sensory processing, organizational skills, and executive functioning.

Hands-On, Personalized Support

Our experienced occupational therapist works with students one-on-one, in small groups, and by pushing into the classroom. Each child receives personalized strategies that support tasks like:

✦ Writing and typing

✦ Organizing materials

✦ Managing classroom routines

These skills are developed through engaging, functional activities, like art projects and typing games, that make learning feel fun and relevant.

Building Focus, Independence, and Confidence

By addressing sensory sensitivities and improving motor coordination, we help students build confidence in their abilities, enhance their focus, and feel more capable navigating daily life at school and beyond.

A Collaborative, Integrated Approach

Our occupational therapist is in regular communication with classroom teachers and other specialists to ensure consistent, holistic support. This teamwork ensures that strategies are tailored, aligned, and deeply embedded in each child’s day.
