Student practicing communication skills in speech-language class.

Speech & Language Support That’s Built
Into the Day

Speech and language therapy at Sterling is an essential part of how we support students with dyslexia and other language-based learning challenges. Our experienced speech-language pathologists are deeply integrated into daily school life, not only in one-on-one and small-group sessions, but also by pushing into classrooms and supporting students during morning arrival, lunch, recess, and Friday electives.

Personalized, Evidence-Based Therapy

Students receive individualized support targeting a range of needs, including:

✦ Articulation

✦ Language comprehension

✦ Expressive language

✦ Social communication skills

We use evidence-based strategies to help students express themselves clearly, understand both spoken and written language, and strengthen overall communication.

A Whole-Child Approach

Our goal is to help students build essential communication skills in a setting that feels encouraging and supportive. As these foundational abilities grow, so does students’ confidence—in both academics and social settings.

Seamless Collaboration

Collaboration is key to our approach. Our speech team works closely with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure that strategies are consistent, personalized, and integrated into every aspect of the child’s school experience.
